Benefits of Participation in the Institute for Nursing Center's Data Warehouse

The Institute for Nursing Centers (INC) has developed a survey tool to collect standardized data on nurse-managed health centers (NMHCs) delivering primary care. The tool is the outcome of a national consensus conference held with leaders in the fields of nurse-managed health and primary care informatics, in Washington , DC , December 2004. This initiative is the first national repository of data for nurse managed health centers.

INC announced several changes in the 2008/09 Data Collection process including

  • Partnership with the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Network for Research (AANPNR)
  • Extending data collection efforts to NPs who practice in independent settings
  • New Excel-based data collection tool facilitating data entry and providing an immediate data report to the respondent

All participants will receive the following benefits:

  • An individualized report comparing their center to national data

  • A complimentary copy of the INC National Data Warehouse Annual Aggregate Report
  • Potential for practice improvement through benchmarking with other services
  • Participation in a national effort to inform policy and ultimately benefit patients' access to primary care and provider choice.
